Most of our summer days consist of going to the pool all day, coming home for dinner, sending the boys outside to the play deck to play while I cleaned up and then baths and bedtime. This year was a bit different and frustrating due to the house being on the market. There were countless cleanings to show the house only to have it result in nothing. :(
But we did squeeze in a few other things here and there.
We didn't do anything special for the 4th of July. A kid may have been sick, I don't remember. What I do remember is Luke begging to stay up to watch the Fireworks. Chance took him for a drive around the lake and then they came back. A little one on one time with Mom before it's off to bed!
The boys made a special little note for me while they were playing outside. (The "M" was added later when they realized their error, LOL).
A visit to Mulkiteo.
My parents watched the boys so Chance and I could have a golf date!
Edmonds waterfront.
Zoo!
Feeding the birds at the zoo.
We also took the boys to Evergreen State Fair. We've been at this parent thing long enough that we know it's pointless to really do anything anywhere other than rides. Nate and Brad aren't tall enough to do all the rides without an adult, so I got to be the lucky one to join them on several dizzying rides. Luke went on several on his own. He really enjoyed being around a "bunch of teenagers" on the Gravitron. Luke and Nate also tried out the "Rockstar" with a little coaxing from me. They both started it terrified but at the end they were ready to ride it again. About 5 more times to be exact. Bradley loved getting to try out some bigger rides this year!
Racing on the big slide!
This year we even stayed till it got dark so the boys got to experience the rides at night. They were thanking us over and over for taking them. Luke asked if we were coming back next year while we were still there!
Oh and our house didn't sell, so we took it off the market.
